"The House With the Garden" (2023 - ). Essential oil of wisteria, brugmansia and rhynchosperm collected by enfleurage of flowers stolen from private property, diffusion method. Variable Sizes.
"The House With the Garden" (2023) is an extended work based on reconstructing the smell of the artist's childhood garden from flowers collected along the boundary of private residential areas. Three specific flower varieties collected daily over the course of 3 months from domestic bushes overhanging the boundary of different properties are subjected to enfleurage, an atavistic and natural practice used for the extraction of essential oils from flowers through an oily medium. The oils extracted from each floral variety are preserved and then dispersed into the environment through specific mechanisms. This final stage of the work is to be considered open, and is designed to be declined in different ways, provided that the garden odor is dispersed in a limited and specific environment.

“The House With the Garden” (2023) è un’opera di natura estesa che si basa sulla ricostruzione dell’odore del giardino d’infanzia dell’artista, a partire da fiori raccolti lungo il confine di aree residenziali private. Tre varietà di fiori specifici raccolti quotidianamente nel corso di 3 mesi da siepi domestiche sporgenti dal confine di diverse proprietà vengono sottoposti ad enfleurage, una pratica atavica e naturale usata per l’estrazione degli olii essenziali dai fiori tramite un mezzo oleoso. Gli oli estratti da ciascuna varietà floreale vengono conservati e poi dispersi nell’ambiente tramite meccanismi specifici. Questo stadio finale del lavoro è da considerarsi aperto, e declinabile in maniera diversa, a condizione che l’odore del giardino sia disperso in un ambiente limitato e specifico.

"The House With the Garden" returns a reflection on the value of the private, from its most domestic notion to its connection with memory. The 'theft of perfume' from different gardens can be traced back to an attempt to reappropriate memory through the use of an ancestral technique that initiated the concept of perfume as a material good.
“The House With the Garden” restituisce una riflessione sul valore del privato, dalla sua nozione più domestica fino al suo legame con la memoria. Il ‘furto del profumo’ dai diversi giardini è riconducibile a un tentativo di riappropriazione del ricordo tramite l’utilizzo di una tecnica ancestrale che ha dato il via al concetto di profumo come bene materiale.

"The House With the Garden" is a process, its intent, stages and documentation invites one to relate to time, the ephemeral, the alchemical, the invisible and the absent. Its body is not stable; instead, it reinvents and flourishes around the same pivot.
